On the other side

It was a short night, finally getting settled in after 2am.  Charlie came back from the OR after 11pm.  From exit to entry it was 9.5 hours.  The surgery was challenging but successful.  Today was low key and was spent trying to figure out the best way to manage his pain.  I think we finally got there.  Charlie has been awake some, kicking and wriggling, and even trying to pull his tubes out.  The surgeon said we would feed him in a week or so, very slowly.  We are hopeful that will work.  Thanks to all you prayer warriors, and thanks for all the emails, texts, and visitors yesterday.
